Jerry Gonnella, M.B.A.
Lecturer
Jerome P. Gonnella, a Business Informatics Lecturer has been teaching at least part time for NKU since 1993. He started full time in 2001. He teaches IFS-105, IFS-110, IFS-300, IFS-384 and runs a summer Web Camp for area middle school students.

A member of the United States Air Force from 1957-1961, Gonnella said when he was younger he wanted to be a chemical engineer, a linguist and an electronics engineer.

He was a student at UC for 16 years and graduated with a math degree, a degree in information processing and a master's of business administration in management. After being a student there, he came to NKU because he saw that it was, 'a much friendlier campus and more student-focused, everything is for the benefit of the student.'

He teaches because he wants to make a difference by sharing his experience and knowledge. Simply put, he enjoys his work. It certainly shows. Gonnella says some of the best memories of his career are being told that his peers looked up to him, successfully managing a group of technical support professionals, and a senior class survey naming him as someone who had made a difference.

When he's not teaching, Gonnella collects stamps and beer steins; works in the yard, home improvements and remodels, woodworking and hitting the links. He enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, which comes as a shock to some who didn't think he was old enough to have grandchildren.
