David Manning, M.S.
Lecturer
David Manning, a Business Informatics instructor, has been with NKU since 1984. He has taught classes in Business Programming, Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, among others. He focuses his research interest in cooperatives because of the real life experience, and teaches because it is fulfilling and he still enjoys it after all these years. Manning was suited for education because even at an early age he wanted to make a difference in people's lives.

Manning has been nominated for several awards and honors: started the women's basketball team at Thomas More; Coach of the Year in 1974 for his work as the Head Coach, Women's Basketball from 1973-1983; nominated for Outstanding Teacher of the Year at Thomas More College in 1981; Outstanding Teacher, College of Business at NKU in 2000 and Who's Who Among College Professors from 2002-2005.

Manning likes NKU because of the small classes, affordable, quality education, the safe campus and caring faculty, of which he is a distinguished member.
He's made differences outside of the education realm; he named a bridge in Newport after some friends of his who lost their lives in Vietnam.

When he's not teaching he enjoys walking, playing the piano, singing, basketball and bowling.

Prior to his NKU career, he taught at Thomas More College from 1973-1984, where he also graduated from in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics; an associate's degree in computer science in 1975. He completed a master's degree in computer education from Xavier University in 1984. His first teaching job out of college was in the math department in the Newport school system.
