What is involved with this capstone course?
The Masters in Health Informatics capstone class is a 6 credit class spanning two semesters which includes two major components: a capstone project and a series of seminars. First, the project is designed to provide the student an experience-based educational opportunity. Students are encouraged to work in teams on a practical MHI problem at one of the program's education partners. Students already working in a MHI field may decide to tie their capstone to their current employment. Second, the seminars are designed to provide students a sense of currency in the world of Health Informatics. During the two semesters, presentations will be made by health informatics professionals on a variety of related topics. Students will be required to attend and provide feedback on these seminars targeting integrating the topic and their feedback with their capstone project when possible.
