Master of Arts in Communication

NKU offers the only communication graduate program in the region specifically designed for both working students, and anyone looking for an advanced understanding of communication applications and research.

Our student/faculty ratio does not exceed 16:1, giving you an intensive and highly participatory small class experience tailored to your specific area of interest and experience.

With two core classes and eight elective classes required for the degree, you can enjoy the flexibility of engaging in

  • Evening-only and Saturday classes
  • Web-enhanced and online classes
  •  A wealth of research opportunities including:
    • Research/creativity fairs,
    • Professorial invitation,
    • and projects with community organizations
  • Competitive graduate assistantships

In addition to a university sponsored graduate assistant (free tuition and paid to work 20 hours per week for the graduate program director), NKU's communication department's community partnerships offer one-year corporate fellowships that pay your tuition while providing you employment relevant to your studies. Think of it as an extended interview in which career placement is highly likely upon your successful graduation.
