What our Students are Saying

My career had come to a point where it was time for a change. After having a positive experience as an undergraduate student majoring in Speech Communication at NKU, I knew the Master's in Communication Program was the answer for me. I feel confident that this educational opportunity paired with my corporate fellowship will be a step in the right direction to help me advance both professionally and personally. Thanks to the expertise, guidance, and support of the faculty and staff at NKU, I know that I will have an edge compared to others in my field.

Jill Johannigman, Master's in Communication Student

I knew as an undergraduate that I wanted to get my Master's in Communication, but I struggled with where I wanted to complete my degree. I looked around at some of the top programs in the nation and came to the realization that NKU had the same high quality as those other programs. The Communication Department has amazing faculty members who are active scholars in the field; additionally, the faculty members are incredibly accessible and eager to help young scholars break into the field through papers and conferences. The flexible and diverse course scheduling allows me to select courses that tailor to my specific interests. I will be able to complete the program in one or two years and from there move on to a doctoral program. The program is challenging, fun, and very rewarding and I made a great choice in selecting NKU for my graduate studies.

Adam Leftin, Master's in Communication Student

Seventeen years after finishing my undergraduate degree, I'm finally on the path to fulfilling my goals. Having just moved to KY and passing the NKU highway exit every day on my way to work, I decided to see if they offered a graduate degree in Communication. Sure enough, they had an amazing program. I never thought that I'd be able to work full time and get my master's degree in 2 years. I can't say enough about how inspiring my professors have been thus far, nor how wonderful and different an experience graduate school is from undergraduate. I'm living proof that it's never too late to go back to school and fulfill goals and dreams that may have been put on the shelf. It's all about just taking that first step. I say - Go for it!

Dina Neumann, Master's in Communication Student

With a background in both History and Communication from my undergraduate education, Northern Kentucky University's Master's in Communication Program seemed perfect for me. Classes are conveniently scheduled at night and are small enough where I am getting the personal attention that I need, the campus is not far from where I live, and the professors and staff are experienced, educated, and happy to help in any way they can. The program has granted me the opportunity to take my career and my life to the places I know they can go. It is with that confidence and excitement that I am positive that the Master's in Communication Program was the right decision for me.
