Program Details
The electronic media and broadcasting program is designed to provide a wide liberal arts background in the theory and creation of electronic media that prepares students for careers in the many opportunities in media communications or for graduate studies. The program offers a variety of courses that will develop the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the rapidly changing field of communication through the various avenues of electronic media - from broadcast journalism to live sports production to studio newscasts to documentary production to digital cinema and more.
There are two requirements for a successful future in electronic media: passion and a reel. As the primary practitioners of the Communication Department's "Academic and Applied" philosophy, the EMB faculty can help foster the passion for electronic storytelling while we teach and develop the skills necessary to create a body of work that will help start your career. Part of that reel is, of course, created with facilities and we are very fortunate to have a state-of-the-art media center — what we simply call The Lab — to assist students develop their media skills. Check out the coordinator's website for more information on EMB facilities and gear.
