Internships in Media Informatics

CinciMedia

A new work-study program gives NKU students a seat at the table with some of the world's leading virtual effects artists. The program is designed to extend the study and application of computer-generated images that can be seen typically in major motion pictures, commercials, fine art and engineering projects.

Along with faculty, NKU students majoring in Media Informatics will travel to Vilnius, Lithuania, the corporate offices of CinciMedia, to collaborate with professionals serving the company’s global and growing client base. CinciMedia connected with NKU faculty and students from its North American base in Cincinnati.

Infrastructure Management Institute:

The Infrastructure Management Institute offers Media Informatics students the opportunity to work for companies within the Greater Cincinnati community. This outreach program solicits offers from companies of all types that need help building and implementing Web tools and applications. Students then work with faculty and staff members to complete real-world projects.

Gannett:

The Cincinnati Enquirer is part of the largest national newspaper chain in the country. Media Informatics students have worked with the paper in a variety of ways already and with the transformative effects of technology on traditional journalism, students have the opportunity to get a foot in the door with the Gannett company.

Our students presented a multiple media story project and the created a video webcast, which led to a limited run video series at the Cincinnati Enquirer.
