Biography

Alex Kuhl attended NKU for his undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Mathematics and was known for his invention and use of the Lucky Guess algorithm.  Next he completed an MS at North Carolina State University in 2008 where he worked on texture synthesis, representation, and visual perception.  He also dabbles in cryptology (and computer security in general) so that he may more easily confuse people. 

Today Alex has returned to NKU and is often seen wandering around campus striking thoughtful poses and muttering to himself to "appear more professorial," as he puts it.  He teaches introductory Informatics courses, including Lee Weiner's famous "build a PC" course, PC/Networking Fundamentals.  When asked about filling those considerable shoes, Alex responds: "I understand PCs well enough, I just need to get Lee's patented Brute Force Teaching methodology down."

When not focusing on enlightening NKU students, Alex's latest projects include copious amounts of hands-on research concerning the physics of disc golf and tennis as well as solving the latest mathematical challenges over his morning bowl of cereal.

"Little Known Fact": Alex has come face-to-face (literally) with a bull moose and lived to tell the tale.
