Master of Computer Science Program

Why pursue your Master of Science in Computer Science (M.S.C.S.) at NKU? Because we offer the most unique program in the tri-state area:

  • Our program is designed primarily for students who work full-time. Earn your degree in two to three years. Classes are held after 6 p.m. and on occasional Saturday mornings.
  • Our program emphasizes software engineering, so you can upgrade your current computer-related experience. (NKU does not offer a Ph.D. However, a thesis option is available for students headed in that direction.)
  • Our faculty is comprised of computer scientists; not engineers. All have Ph.D.s; all do research and engage in outside projects; and all are absolutely devoted to teaching what they do by involving you.

The need for greater computer security increases daily. You can help fill that need by enrolling in our secure software engineering (SSE) program. This 12-credit hour certificate can be counted toward your master's, and gives you an extra leg up in the exploding field of software security.

Another major benefit of NKU's program is its commuter-friendliness. Being located just off the I-275 beltway at I-471, makes us easy to get to.
