Computer Information Technology
NKU offers the only four-year degree in the rapidly expanding field of computer information technology (C.I.T.), and features practical, hands-on expertise in UNIX/LINUX and other open-source, administrative computer software.
Engaged by a dynamic, student-focused, and professionally practicing faculty, you will explore the design, maintenance, and use of a variety of computing technologies (computer science, information systems, and computer hardware). You can combine your degree with study in a variety disciplines and fields, for example:
- art and graphic design
- English
- philosophy/ethics
- technical writing
By choosing one of two tracks, Web development or network/system administration and security, you will be prepared to enter the workforce with a broad array of skills applicable to an ever-increasing variety of jobs, including:
- Systems administrator
- Web administrator, designer, or developer
- Technical support representative
- Hardware installations coordinator
- Graphics technician
