Assistant Professor, Media Informatics; Media Informatics Program Director
Renee serves as the program director for Media Informatics. She specializes in web and multimedia design and development. With nearly 20 years of industry practice and 14 years of teaching at the college level, Renee loves to share her expertise and knowledge with the next generation of creative geniuses (and to learn from them as well!).
Renee has a B.A. in English from Wheaton College (1989) and an M.A. from the University of Kentucky in Communication (2005). She has also completed her course work and qualifying exams towards her PhD. in Communication at the University of Kentucky and is currently working on her dissertation.
Renee’s primary areas of research focus on interpersonal use of technology in relationships, education and, more recently, in the gaming industry. The notion of community whether it be off -or online, greatly permeates her work.
Stop by and say hello to her in her new office, she wants to meet nice people and chat about media informatics, Siggraph, her daughter, cats and lime-flavored foods.
