Minor in Computer Information Technology

A minor in computer information technology consists of 21 semester hours, including the following:

  • INF 120
  • CIT 130
  • CIT 247
  • CIT 271 or CIT 371
  • One CIT elective at the 300- or 400- level.
  • 6 additional hours of courses with the INF, CIT or CSC prefix not listed above

For students under pre-2011 catalogs, the minor requirements are as follows:

  • One of INF 110, INF 120, or INF 260
  • CIT 140
  • CIT 141
  • CIT 370
  • One CIT elective at the 300- or 400- level.
  • 6 additional hours of courses with the INF, CIT or CSC prefix not listed above

Students should carefully examine the CIT electives available before registering for any INF or CSC courses, as many CIT courses have Informatics or Computer Science coursework as prerequisites. It is important to consult with an advisor when planning a schedule.

A grade point average of at least 2.0 in all coursework counted toward the minor is required. Transfer students must take at least 6 semester hours toward a minor at NKU.
