Financial Info for Graduate Students
Graduate students are charged graduate tuition for all courses taken, regardless of level of the course. Tuition and fee information is available on the Office of Graduate Programs website or by calling (859) 572-6364.Tuition and fees are per credit hour, and are not capped. Summer session rates are the same; no maximum full-time rate exists.
Residency for Tuition Purposes
Students are notified of their residency status for tuition purposes when they are admitted to the University. Residency status is determined by the Office of Admissions in accordance with the Council on Post-secondary Education "Policy on the Classification of Students for Admission and Fee Assessment Purposes at State-Supported Institutions of Higher Education." This policy is printed in the NKU Graduate Catalog. Prospective students who have lived in Kentucky less than one year may wish to seek clarification of this policy from the Office of Admissions at (859) 572-1555.Financial Assistance
Financial Aid
NKU participates in a variety of financial aid programs that are designed to assist students in meeting educational expenses. Graduate Assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis. Assistantships include a semester stipend and graduate in-state tuition for 9 semester hours (available for fall and spring semesters only).Graduate assistants work 20 hours per week, performing a variety of administrative, instructional and research activities within University departments and offices. To be considered, a candidate must meet all admission criteria, must enroll for at least 9 semester hours per semester, and must complete a formal application available from the Office of Graduate Programs.
